Buffalo Bills Safety, #3, Damar Hamlin
The inspiration to create this pencil illustration was drawn from the on-field events at the 2023 NFC Playoff game between the Buffalo Bills and Cincinnati Bengals. After a play in which Hamlin tackled a Bengals player, he stood up then immediately collapsed backwards.
Medical personnel performed life saving measures, on field, for nearly 10 minutes after which Hamlin was transported to an area hospital in critical condition. Both teams, fans at the stadium and people from all around the world came together to pray for his rapid recovery. Hamlin recovered only days later as he was released to recover at home. The “Power of Prayer” is a dedication to Damar Hamlin, his faith in God and a testament that miracles do happen.
